The Garmin Earthmate app provides you with a wide range of capabilities:

To fully utilize the live tracking and messaging features—including SOS capabilities—on the Earthmate app, you will need an inReach device with an active satellite subscription that utilizes the reliable global Iridium® satellite network.
You can seamlessly plan your adventures on the Garmin Explore™ website using your account, then wirelessly sync all your plans to your smartphone or tablet. The Earthmate app offers unlimited cloud storage for all your trip data and maps.
